10:09 pm: A Narnia poem & others
Hey, guys! I bring a post - finally! Though, I'm sad to say, it is not an update of either Sleeping Arrangements or What's in a Kiss. However, I wanted to give all of you an update -

The beginning of this month was the start of a new semester for me. I am a junior in college now, and it's my busiest year yet! I am taking six classes (18 credits), four of which are English classes. This means that I have been doing a lot of writing. In addition, I have written a play for my sister to direct, plus started working on a screenplay for one of my classes (for those of you who may not know, I had to write a screenplay for a class this summer, too). So I'm literally writing all the time.

And, in addition to all the classes, I have a job.

This is not to say that I have plans to give up on either fic. Exactly the opposite! I plan to go ahead with both, but particularly What's in a Kiss. It's just that it will take me awhile. Homework and RL comes before fanfiction, I'm afraid. But my muse for both projects is still cooperating fully, so this is a good thing! I will try to have an update for them soon - hopefully before the month is out! But please, continue to leave reviews if you've read the stories - every little bit of encouragement helps. ♥

But now that that's out of the way, I bring you a poem! Yes, a poem! It is about the Pevensie children, so I thought I would post. I have written poems for the fandoms before (Lost and Heroes), but this is a much lighter style than those.

Also have combined some other non-related poems after this one. Enjoy!

Title: Fallen Sister, Fallen Star
Fandom: Chronicles of Narnia
Pairing: None. Gen.
Rating: PG
Summary: A poem about the Pevensies, and the one that falls away.

Noble, beautiful, wise, faithful
One heart is of one body is of one mind is of one heart
They stand golden together
Triumph on their thrones
The age of freedom and peace and God
One falls away
Beauty doesn’t last forever
And she faded
Her silver eyes and raven smiles
No longer linger
Noble turns to nobody
Wise turns to lies
Faith turns to doubt, nothing is filled here
Weeping for the beauty they once knew
Metal black and bound carriage
Races along tracks
Like the mascara leaves down her face when she cries
And they are born in blood and trees and fire and God
But the sun doesn’t sparkle like they remember, like she doesn't remember, and they think of the girl who used to look at the stars

--

I debated about posting the rest of these, simply because they're very personal to me. I won't really go into too much detail about the background of these poems, but let's just say that they've all been very real in my life. Some of these poems are about God, which is obviously deeply personal, and the rest are about events in my life/events in the lives of people I know. Like I said, I wondered whether I should post them, but then I looked back at all the other poems I've written and most of them are deeply personal and depict events that have actually occured in my life. So, yeah. Here you go.

Scared

You make me paranoid
(I want to be around you)
Call me 13 times, follow me around
(I want to hear your voice, walk in your footsteps)
And I’m scared
(Happiness)
Scared of our past, scared of my future
Scared of the new knife you have
(I want to tease you)
I didn’t want to hurt you
(You’ve broken me)
I just can’t be around you
(I can’t stand you)
I just want you to know
(I’ll come for you)

I pray we will

Trees rise from dirt
White-green blooms
Tall, proud
A bird's nest
God is showing me how I am blessed
This world is ours
A gift from the Father
Full of life; melodic chirps, the buzzing of bees, the humming of nature
We have destroyed it
The man-made eagle corrupts the sky;
Disturbs the balance with its violent, polluting sounds
Cigarette butts lay on the once strong blades of grass, now wilting from nicotine
Animals die for fashion, for sport, for fun
I pray we will be forgiven.

I Don't Know (But He Doesn't Either)

I don’t know
Know what?
I don’t know, but he
Doesn’t know either
“Lie in the bed you’ve made”
I used to say
To him, but he didn’t make it
Can’t make anything, and
Especially not (up) his mind
His world is indecisiveness
His mind is frozen
Baked
With fake
Words of people with pretty hair and insincere smiles
He wants one thing, but he does another
Paternity test, but she won’t grant it
Does he want to be in ITS life?
It’s hard to know who to trust
Indecisiveeptive. Laughs, dates – she is a monster.
Monsters are everywhere.
Do they hide under my bed, too? Am I lying in it?
Did I make it?
I don’t know.

Every heart will unite

Every heart will unite in my Father's presence
Every knee will bend
Every mouth will sing his praises
My Lord is Everything
He is the sun that wakes me up in the morning,
the moon that tucks me in at night,
the loving embrace of a parent,
flowers blooming before my eyes.
He is Every smile
I can love because he loved me first
The Bible tells me so

He brings his children together
Gives them a home
He is my strength, my courage, my home
He is my life, for He gave me it
I want the world to know
He saves his children, eternal life is theirs
The world, I want to show
When he comes again, it will be with fire and rain
Those who believe will have nothing to lose, but Everything to gain
We will tremble before Him, our souls quenched
Our knees will quake in reverence

I am a child of God
My heart will delight in his presence

Cancer Mom
dedicated to my amazing mother, whom I love more than the moon loves the sky ♥

Dorm-room standing
English stories or whatever writing
Lamp-lit and small
Post-it note reads ‘Nay-Tay, gone to the mall’
She eats cheesecake, yum! there’s a call
Cannon ringtone on the cell she’s had since before
college
“Hey, hon, it’s mom”
Went to the doctor
Bladder’s been bothering her
“I don’t want to say over the phone”
“It’s okay”
“You alone?”
Cigarettes cause cancer and not just in lungs
Can’t believe it, can’t be so
Confused, so confused, yet so
collected and calm
Cheesecake goes sour on an acrid tongue
Offering words of comfort to her mother
she loves
“Millions of people beat it, and mom, you’re a fighter”
Dots behind her eyes and they get brighter and brighter
And there are memories
of coloring pictures with crayons and her curly-Q hair,
crinkling lips cutely when mommy hangs up it up there!
Painting on the fridge, the New Mona Lisa at which to stare.
But this new picture painted hurts, hurts, and
her heart pitter patters with tear splatter and the future funeral clanging bells at church
Smell of smoke, Bic lighter, orange fire.
Nictone-stained smile now nicotine-stained bladder.
“I love you”, “I love you” and “See you soon” – in the dark holes of the mind, “I hope you don’t die”
Click of phone, dial tone, she begins to cry
Collapse to the ground, hiding under the bed away from the monsters,
clutching coarse carpet with open fingers
And she’s cold.
Ocean drops down her cheeks and she’s helpless,
little curly-Q in college girl, helpless,
hopes for a cure ‘cause her mom she can’t lose
So she calls on the One who will know what to do

Apartment-standing
Writing poems about her mother
And the years have passed one two three
And she writes, she writes, and she writes,
“Cancer free and still with me.”

*tear* I love poetry. No matter how you read it, it will always mean one thing to you and it's fun to see how others interpret it. Great job.
